Motor insurance Questions and AnswersLost Certificate of Motor Insurance?Q) I have lost my Cerificate of Motor Insurance & cannot find it anywhere. I have notified my insurers & they have acknowledged this, is there anyway that someone can use my document for fraudulent usage. I am quite concerned about it. Thanks & Happy New Year.
That is it, I am telling the whole truth. I was just really concerned about it.
A) Sure the could use it, but it would not hurt you in any way. A person could just as easily create one on a computer and pass it off as the real thing which would be easier then using a stolen one. The name on the card would also have to match the name of the driver license of the person using the card.
I would not worry, the chance that someone would try and use your insurance card would be very low since there is nothing in it for them.Standing the cost of a car crash vs motor insurance claim?Q) My son recently had a motor accident, we intend to stand the cost of a replacement car (insurance premium would rise a further £2000 for the following year).
Do we have to inform the insurance company of the accident and if we do will this have an impact on his insurance considering the we stood the cost and didn't claim?
The current insurance company seem unwilling to answer the question fully and an independant insurance broker was of little help too. Please help!
A) ALWAYS inform the insurance company. They get very tetchy if they find out you haven't. My daughter had a total loss. They paid for recovery (it was burned out) but we didn't claim on our insurance and we didn't loose any no claimsHow can I buy an international motor insurance "green card" for 15 days in England?Q) I will travel with my car through Skopje, Serbia and Modenegro and they ask for "green card" international motor insurance. If you don't have you have to pay at least 210 euro to pass through the country.
A) Same as I told you the last time you asked, from your motor insurers.Do motor insurance companies pay out to fix non insured drivers cars after an accident.?Q) My wife was involved in a road traffice accident. She had just pulled out of a corner road and was facing on coming traffic and was ready to do a right turn when a car came from behind her and try to over take due to the speed but ended up pulling in to early and cliding with her car. The insurance company is now saying that if the fault was her's then they would seek to have the repair done on the other drives car. The biggest problem is that the other drive did not have any insurance but my insurance company seem to think this does not matter. I would like to know if this has happen to anyone or where I stand on this? Thank you
A) If the other driver is not insured, then your insurance will cover the costs, and then try to recover them from the other driver, either through a civil action, or from a central goverment fund which is there to take up the slack from uninsured idiots who shouldn't be on the road.
Chances are if they haven't got insurance, they are probably not taxed or MOT'd. Report them to the police.should motor insurance disks be compulsary ?Q) we have tax discs so why cant we have insurance disc it costs the government nothing the insurers print them and you know on the spot if if someone has insurance or not . and if they dont display the disc they should get a fine . once again this government shows its identity as long as they get there tax they dont give a damn .
A) Motor Insurance discs should be compulsary. That way there would be fewer uninsured vehicles driving on the roads undetected. My motor Insurance co. won't back me up after an accident that I believe wasn't my fault. Require help!Q) The fully comp insurance covered legal expenses but now say after their investigation, (they didn't even check that parking on that road at the time is illegal)that if I choose to go to accident lawyers, I will be liable to pay everything. Details of accident were that I was joining a clear lane and somebody cruising a busy road overtook my witness's car on the left and joined lane beside mine. there was a parked car on his lane so he tried to squeeze btw the parked car and mine, therefore changing lanes and unable to stop in time. His car was written off, the parked car had the front h/lights and surrounding smashed and my car had slight dent and scratch as I had stopped in time. My witness hadn't seen the actual accident as he was further down the road at the time - my lane was clear at the time I tried to join it. Any suggestions?
A) The legal cover companies will only take on cases where they are guarranteed to win.
Find out how much it will cost in legal fees to fight your case and compare it to how much you will lose from your insurance if you get them to pay for the damage.
You may find that you will be better off not to pursue the matter.
I know, you want justice to be served but sometimes you have to take a hit, it's unfair. Are motor insurance company solicitors allowed.......?Q) to contact, harass and threaten bailiff intervention direct with the driver who they claim caused an accident? I thought they had to deal directly with the other insurance company. This is happening to a friend of mine who, it is claimed, and disputed, allegedly caused major damage to a policemans civilian car whilst pulling out of a t junction. Damage to her car - 1 cm scratch, damage suupposedly to his - full wing/bonnet replacement and passenger door. This damage was already done and my friend has a case going through the police compaaints commission but is getting harassed by these solicitors
A) She should tell the commission she is being harassed by the solicitors, if she was insured they should deal direct with the insurance company.
Dodgy solicitors, they should know better. You pay the insurance company to deal with this kind of thing.
An independent car accident assessor will have to produce a report on the damage to both vehicles and her insurance company is within its rights to send their own if they don't agree with the findings of the first report.Any cheap motor insurance company for 19yr old?Q) 19yrs old, licence since May '05, planning to buy a Fiat Seicento Sporting (grp. 3), Bradford postcode.

i have a claim (someone elses fault) and stillnot yet been resolved. incident date was november 2004!!!!Who will sell motor insurance to a non US citizen buying a car in the US?Q) I want to buy a car in the US and travel across the country for 2 months but am having trouble finding a company that will insure me. Does anyone know of a way I can get insurance to legally drive a car in the US?
A) Check with a travel agent in your home country. There are many inusrance companies that will sell you insurance, though you may have to arrange the purchase before you arrive here.
There are no laws restricting the sale of insurance to only US citizens or residents. If you are in the country legally you can legally buy insurance.
You might NOT be able to get a "short-term" policy however. Insurance is sold in six-month policies in most states. A few states require one-year policies. You'll have to buy a full-term policy and then cancel it when you sell or ship the car and leave the country. You'll get a refund of the unearned premium when you do this.
Motor insurance?Q) I drive on my wife's Insurance, (Fully comp) As a named driver. can I drive someone elses car as third party (not named) uk
A) As long as the other car has it's own insurance cover and you have the owner's permission to drive the car you should be OK.
Unless the other policy restricts drivers (by age, name, etc.) there won't be any problem. Those restrictions are rare but not unheard of so ask to see the policy if there's any question.some one tell me what mean for motor insurance , home insurance, travel insurance, health insurance and life?Q) some one tell me what mean for motor insurance , home insurance, travel insurance, health insurance and life
A) Motor Insurance, or automobile insurance, protects you if you are ever in a car accident. It can help pay for car repairs and any injuries you may have if you get hurt.
Homeowners Insurance protects you if your house is robbed, or is destroyed by fire or heavy storms, or is someone is hurt on your property (for example, if they tripped and fell on your damaged sidewalk, or if they were bitten by your dog)
Travel Insurance protects you if you bought airline tickets or a hotel room, and then are not able to go on the trip for an unexpected reason. You could get reimbursed for the money you spent on plane tickets, hotel reservations, and things like that.
Health Insurance helps you pay for your medical needs. It can help pay for regular doctor visits, emergency room visits, hospitalization, dentists, and many others, depending on the type of health insurance policy you have. Many people (in the U.S.) get health insurance through their place of employment.
Life Insurance protects your family in the event that you die. You pay a specific amount, or "premium", and in return the life insurance company promises to pay a specific amount of money to the person(s) you choose, after you die. It does not typically cover suicide.
Every type of insurance is very complicated and detailed. You should carefully read any insurance policy that you are thinking about buying. An Insurance Agent can help you find the right insurance policies for your needs.
Hope this helps. How do you like these Funny motor insurance claims?Q) Funny motor insurance claims:

A) LOLMy Massachusetts motor vehicle insurance carrier is terrorizing me, please help.?Q) I was involved in a rear-end motor vehicle accident in Massachsuestts one month ago. The person who crashed into me from behind is from Massachusetts and owns the car that rear-ended my car. Both cars had insurance. The defendant's insurance company has already accepted 100% liability for the accident. The problem, however, is my own insurance company is investigating my claim! I did nothing wrong.
My own insurance company recently had me undergo an examination under oath in the office of the law firm that they use to represent them. 'During the examination, the attorney showed my a copy of my criminal record (which had nothing to do with my accident). My question is-----isn't a person's criminal record private? How can an insurance company simply get a person's criminal record when (a) it had nothing to do with the accident and (b) no lawsuit has even been filed. Isn't this an invasion of my privacy since i never consented to them having it, yet, they got a copy of it. Please help
A) Nothing is private from insurance companies, especially in MA, I as any insurance agent can find out everything about you from the state run registry, which is why I had the FBI and every police agency in every state I sold for check into my background. Having a criminal record can actually disqualify you from having insurance in most states depending on what it was for, good luckmotor insurance s later saying it had been canceled 5 months a go?Q) the ins was for £438 payed £376 the letter that came to day said effective date of cancellation was 5 months ago so really have been driving with no insurance? when i rang them thay said it has not been canceled but states on letter it has i said i did not cancell she said it was cancelled 1 month ago but no letter of cancelation from me the manager said he will look into it and he will ring back to day but did not do am i in the right to get all my money back and dont no what to do next can some one help please they also trying to charge me £20 for cancellation uk only plz
A) Well, I filter my questions to USA only, and this came up, so you're likely NOT going to get any answers unless there are UK people trolling the USA questions.
Thought I'd let you know.
You don't get "all your money back", and you DO get charged a cancellation fee, assuming the policy cancelled for nonpayment. You have a responsibility to expect to RECEIVE the bill every month, and pay it, OR pay it in full for a year.Has anyone been to court for having no motor insurance?Q) I was stopped and given a fixed penalty for having no insurance. I was given 6 points and a 200 quid fine. I am going to court as my insurance company sent the renewal then cancellation letter to a random address and they admit it, but as far as I know, I may be able to reduce the fine in court, but has anyone had the points dropped down to less than 6 in court? as I believe this can't be done? I had no insurance for 5 weeks and had no idea at all that the company had cancelled it until I got stopped and checked. Has anyone been in this situation please?
A) If you can prove that you paid the renewal fee in good faith you may have a chance.
If you never paid, never got the renewal, and so on, then you are ****ed as you are responsible for validity of your own insurance before you step into the vehicle.
You can plead with the judge or comissioner for reduced sentence (however, the insurance admitting over the phone they screwed up your address is NOT good enough of excuse.)Why you need Home Insurance, life, motor, health and travel insurances?Q) Why you need Home Insurance, life, motor, health and travel insurances?
A) If you don't feel like you have a need for them, DON'T BUY THEM!! Don't let a salesperson "create a need" for you!!!
MOST people buy auto insurance because it's required by law. Most people buy HOME insurance because the lender requires it. Most people buy HEALTH insurance because uninsured medical costs can lead to bankruptcy and loss of all assets faster than anything else. And most people DON'T buy travel insurance. It's not a good deal.what kind of motor insurance is the best?A) I've worked as a claims adjuster in property. While I didn't do auto adjusting,I have heard some opinions:
stay away from Progressive unless you're a nonstandard customer. In fact, the rudest person I ever spoke with in insurance was a Progressive claims manager
Geiko is suppose to be good
I have and like State Farm
Allied is all over, bust don't know anything.
I would avoid Allstate for everything. I worked with Allstate employees at Encompass. If you are older and can afford good insurance, buy Encompass. Our customers 9/10 were very pleased.
Sometimes the individual adjuster on a claim is the issue, as opposed to what company they work for.
My experience with agents is that they will fight for you, but I always tried the same if its you or them, and a local agent didn't matter.
I also worked for The Hartford. My impression of the auto dept was that it was nothing special good or bad.
I spent the most time working for Metlife. I wouldn't suggest Metlife, but its been a while since I worked there. I worked closely with the auto people. I thought the wheels turned slowly.
Hope this helps.what is the motor insurance ?A) Motor insurance is insurance that covers your car. I'm not sure where you are based, so I can't guarantee this, but in the UK there are three main types.
Third party- this is the basic insurance. If you damage your own car, or if it is stolen, you still have to pay to have it repaired. "Third" means third party, or "someone else". Basically, if you damage someone else's property they can claim for the repairs from your insurance company. By law you need this cover as a minimum.
Third/fire/theft - same as before, except the car is stolen or set on fire you can claim for repairs or a replacement.
Fully Comprehensive is the same as third/fire/theft except that you are also covered for your own mistakes - if you damage your car you can claim for the cost of the repairs.
That's a very basic overview- let us know if you want more detail.Which is Malaysia's leading Motor Insurance company ?Q)
In terms of claims, service and efficiency.
A) In my experience most motor insurance company have similar policy within each other.
What make the difference is the insurance agent. For me I always deal with agent that I know preferably who are relative or my friend.
The reasons are I can negotiate the premium price and I can ask everything regarding the insurance. Plus, in a case you want to make a claim, it would be faster. And the important thing is you can always minimise the risk to be cheated.
By the way, if you ask which company is the leader, I would say Kurnia.
Cheers
